I would love to see something like an Interview or a discussion between you Dan Steinhardt from that Pedal show. I think you two are the biggest and some of the best rig builders on YouTube but you have totally different philosophys concerning the matter. I think it would be a really really interesting video

"Thats why me and any other of the pro rig builders out there never use solderless patch cables" - *Dan Steinhardt has entered the chat*...

What a great build. It's extremely comprehensive and detailing the drawings, tips and component listings makes this 1000% more useful.

Theft; I hope you have inspired the next generation of builders and (Mason) Dr Rig; you are an engineers engineer. Love your vids.

Boom. 2021 offers better things to look forward too. Keep safe. Play hard (there is a Plan B, C, z)

I can not get enough tips.So here I am :-)
l was using a board with 40 pedals but I am 74 and did the lifting. LOL Actually it was not the weight but the bulk. My new twin boards (half built) will have 40 on each with 3 visible steps but the tops lift and there are 2 rows under each. The bottom step is a 1/4" plywood board. The structure is made using ABS pipe using Form-u-Fit furniture grade/style fittings. The pedals sit on 3 ...1 1/4 x 3/8"hardwood strips. (I use door stop strips) structurally it is very strong but light. They are in effect hinged for repair & maintenance. The switching is done from a Boss DS5. I only use 4 loops. The Each loop switches what is in effect a small board onto itself. Each has it's own Comp, OD's & Fuzz, Modulation boxes & or FX, Smart gate, Delay and Reverb.I use at least 3 out of the 4 loops per tune. Not only do I get variety but drama! In short I am going for a quasi post produce recorded sound ..but live. Everything is very quick hands on. I pick out between what pedals I want between tunes. Each pedal is chosen to do a single thing exactly to liking so outside of toggling on and off a footswitch by hand the most I do is move the gate, a reverb amount, and a delay. The new rig will have 82 pedals. The worse thing that ever happened was having a power supply die. I have 2 spares. It took me about 10 minutes to trace and change. Without compromise on even the sound on part of a song it is inspiring and empowering. I have a 3 piece Metal band so as the guitarist ... I am 'IT" lol. With all original tunes I HAVE to make a first impression. My board and my 9 guitars are part of the show. It worked before c19 but in 2022 I want to take to another level.

My Ultraphonix Overdrive is one of the best pedals I own. I was longing for this early 70s Carlos Santana tones (Samba Pa Ti) and this pedal delivered. I learned a lot form this video and thank you for the links.

Excellent advice, huge thanks for this and huge thanks for those tutorials.
For the multi-pedal power supply, I would hope(!) the manufacturer would have at least one end of each power patch cable fitted with a right angled connector - I would have thought for obvious reasons.

Thats an awesome board, as always 🔥🔥. I would like to see some boards that are high gain and for modern metal. That would be great 🤘🏼

I just got an HX FX that I'll be running with my Victory VX100. I wish you would have gone into more detail with the cable routing and buffer interface. I've purchased the same metal enclosure, and all the cables, square plugs, input buffers, etc. I'm going to be soldering everything like you do. I'll just have to figger' it out. Ps. I've watched tons of your vids. Very informative and helpful. Cheers!

Thanks to The Rig Doctor, my plan to build my own rig is coming along nicely; I'm getting a soldering iron next week to start learning how to make my own cables! I just got the Cioks DC10 (thanks again Mason for the recommendation) but the ends have RCA inputs. My question is, since you recommend soldering on the power supply side, how does one solder an RCA input? Is there a place to find those types of jacks?

This is awesome. I reckon it's about time to get my ducks in a row and build an actual pro level board. Thanks Mason for a great video!
