Don’t go beating a drum before yourself
When you fast keep it to yourself
Pray in the closet or room so it’s between you and God. Don’t heap up empty phrases as the gentiles do (“God bless you”, or “Praise the Lord), they think because of their many words they will be heard, instead pray “like this” (Our
Father). When you pray beat your breast and don’t look up, don’t pray like “thank you God for not making me like him/her”. Also, even Jesus disciples were told to humble themselves like a little child if they wish to be like the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. These are people who were selected from the world by God, had been sent out carrying nothing to spread the world, made to be judges over the 12 tribes of Israel.
