Early on New Years Day a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside of Trump Tower in Las Vegas. The news media ran with the story and starting spreading misinformation I feel I should try to correct. So let's figure out what really happened.

I can't help thinking it was no coincidence that a Tesla was used outside a Trump hotel.

The “official story” is that he unalived himself with a Desert Eagle .50AE handgun in the truck right before the explosion. That is a huge and VERY loud gun.

And yet not a single eye witness has reported hearing a gunshot. Suspicious…

if they intended to do damage, they would have used some actual explosives, not propane tanks and fireworks. this was just a political message. not justifying it but it doesn't seem like a well thought out attack.

The goal wasn't to cause a bunch of damage. The goal was to send a message. The police have released something the driver wrote.

Tesla telemetry serves only Tesla. Even the owner can't get all the data on their own vehicle, especially if Tesla is at fault. Also a severe invasion of privacy.

The saving grace in both attacks is that pickup trucks have a big open space in the back to direct the energy of the explosion upwards.

Is it possible that the body found with a gunshot wound to the head in the drivers seat wasn’t the real perpetrator. Could he have been shot in the head, placed in the drivers seat and then the Summon feature used to navigate the Tesla truck to the front of the Trump tower remotely and then the flammable also triggered remotely?

A loose pile of fireworks and some gas cans in the back of a pickup is not going to cause much external damage no matter what model truck was used.

Why are there no eyewitness accounts of hearing a $h0t prior to the "incident". They know he was $--- in the h--- prior to the "incident". It would be IMPOSSIBLE for those in the area to not hear that from the vehicle sitting in the valet area. This is critical to determine if he was $--- BEFORE the truck entered the valet and might have been on autopilot. This would indicate a group was involved and that he may have been an unwilling hostage.

I think you got the physics wrong: something that does deform absorbs energy, something that does not deform does not but channels it somewhere else (in this case up).
We can just feel sorry for anyone who ever will be in an accident with a cyber truck because you know who is going to loose.

Thank you for pointing out the bias that exists. It is so frustrating to see so much trash being reported. It's like everyone wants to a) be the first to report something even if they are wrong, or b) they want to weaponize the event and blame someone without having all the data. Thanks again. My thought, I believe that this was a deliberate event but I am not sure that this was foreign terrorism. My thoughts and prayers to all impacted by this event and the terrorist attack in Louisiana.
