This is the song that makes me remember the Dreamcast. i was in 8th grade turning on my dads Dreamcast and playing the sampler disc that had playable demo's of MDK 2, Tony hawk Pro Skater, Power Stone and Sonic Adventure. Played those games over and over till i finally got the full games. But ill never forget playing emerald coast for the first time. Gorgeous graphics just popping out of the television screen and this song blaring out the speakers. This is Sonic at his best for me.

Something that I find to be genius about this stage is that it does fit with the game's motif around water, something that SEGA wanted to show that the Dreamcast was capable of rendering. The main antagonist, Chaos, is made of water, the first boss fight takes place in the rain, and the first stage, Emerald Coast, takes place in an environment surrounded by water!

The sad part about this is there's never going to be anything better than this instrumental ever.

I didn't even realize it at the time playing this game it was so seamlessly soothing me and my adolescent boy brain didn't even know it.

This game was my childhood, it made me feel safe, happy and took up hours of my day.... I remember unlocking the super Sonic level (after doing big the cat 💀)

I was so happy!

To think the journey started here at this level, this song...

This song... It just hit me so hard.. I'm tearing up listening to this.. I never played sonic adventure 2, I was way to obsessed with this game

Just holding the x box 360 controller in my little hands for hours a day, kept me entertained for about 3 whole years of my childhood

I had so many different save modes on that game ...


Most of my time was surprisingly spent on the chao garden :)

To be honest, this game Is one of the best games I have ever played, I don't regret one second of it... I'm sure many other people feel the same way
