SS25 / OBSESSION N°13 “Dreamers”
Maison KIMHĒKIM presents its 'Obsession series’ each season, experimenting new details and silhouettes. The Spring Summer 2025 collection, themed 'Dreamers,' will debut on September 28 at the Paris Faculty of Pharmacy.
This collection pays homage to those who are dreaming anywhere and who aspire to achieve their dreams. Daily items like pillows and blankets are transformed into strapless tops and draped couture dresses. The collection features relaxed styling with trench coats over sleepwear and whimsical, minimal looks inspired by dream figures like Andy Warhol and Marilyn Monroe.
The runway's background music, “Dream Song,” was composed in collaboration with Annis Belkadi, inspired by the story of a friend embarking on a journey from darkness to bright dreams. 111SYRI’s voice also aims to convey the phonetic expression of the brand name 'Kimintē KIMHĒKIM.'
The collection includes dreamy pink spray printing, handwritten prints, inspired by notes taken just after waking, and pencil and notebook details attached to berets and sneakers, reflecting Kimintē’s note-taking habits. Thanks to BlackWing, adored by many artist, this season styling emphasizes the joy of analog experiences through their premium pencil.
What is KIMHĒKIM?
Founded in 2016, KIMHĒKIM takes its name from an ancient Korean royal family renowned for its decorative arts. By integrating this heritage with modern elements, we present new collections that blend minimal and playful designs. Since 2021, the brand has explored experimental details and silhouettes through a series called 'Obsession.' KIMHĒKIM currently operates its headquarters and first flagship store in Seoul, with aspirations to open spaces in major cities around the world where people can experience the KIMHĒKIM universe. Founder and creative director Kimintē envisions growing the brand into one that brings happiness to those seeking balance between their inner and outer selves.
Who is Kimintē?
Born in Korea, Kimintē KimhēKim nurtured his creativity by dressing Barbie dolls in traditional hanbok with his grandmother from the age of seven. As a dreamer, he left for Paris without hesitation, graduating from Studio Berçot and gaining a deep understanding of French couture under Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga. Since establishing KIMHĒKIM in 2016, he has showcased collections at Paris Fashion Week since 2019.
SS25 Dreaming Dreamers Performance
Designer Kimintē envisioned a unique Finale that captures the essence of ‘Dreamers.’ Instead of a typical model walk and bow, he aimed to give the audience a fresh experience. Models step out and then collapse on the runway as if they were falling asleep. This moment symbolize both the audience and models entering a dream world, and their awaken represents them still living in a dream rather than returning to their previous reality.
