Fun fact: before ch2s6 you could destroy the floor that the safe was standing on and it would automatically destroy itself and give you gold. I used this method every Time I Saw A safe during ch2s5.

If you pickax the floor that it is on then it will drop and it is a lot faster

Destroying a safe is what I do because it gives me more metal

My trick is to break the floor underneath it to break it quicker.

Axing your safe works if you wanna save progress on repeated opening attempts (in case you need to hide if someone drops near you) and can also be used to bait people who see a 150 hp safe and then you can wipe them out for good drops or you can just open it with the hotkey a bit faster but have to restart progress when interrupted....
Keep in mind axing a safe is loud

I’m surprised that searching a safe is quicker the breaking it, it feels like it takes 10 years to search.
