With Dragonball Z Sparking Zero on the horoizon the hype for what used to be called budokai Tenkaichi 4 Is at an all time high. One question still remains though... how will sparking zero tackle the story and will it be as good as DB Budokai tenkaichi 2. I went back to play that game to see what It might look like

One detail I loved about BT2 is that when you do "give me your energy" you can see the spirit bomb grow in the background

Bro the first part where dotos trying to get a special cutscene from raditz, that's so nostalgic. There's no internet back then. That's how we could have done it too

Fateful Brothers is probably what inspired Masako's "What If Raditz Turned Good?" story from years back. It's the earliest example of a villain turn over story.

That said, what's the Like goal to see this as a full series? Say it and we shall make it happen.

Man people miss out on this one. BT3 was amazing but this is the one I had growing up and man the story works great for someone who didn't have all of the show to watch yet or maybe rather just play a good fighter and learn enough of DBZ to talk with their friends about it consistently lore wise. Also one thing people miss in this is you have a charge bar in the bottom right corner to better help you read melee and the peak point to release a blast. That was removed in 3 but I liked them tbh

Another part of this story that makes it better then the rest is that there’s no transformation lock in story mode. So when you unlock super saiyan 3 and go back to fight Radiz you can transform to super saiyan 3

Doto I bordered on tearing up seeing BT2 in the thumbnail I thought I was tripping. I never had BT3 as a kid but I had BT2 and this defined my entire childhood. I finally got to watch this today after work and I am smiling the entire time. Made my goddamn day. PLEASE make this into a full series. I would pay real money to see the GOAT dotodoya play this whole game.

Also as a little gameplay tip you can use give me your energy 3 times and watch the spirit bomb grow stronger in the background of the stage and its very cool.

I love BT2 for the little things like making hunting for Dragon Balls more fun, grinding to fight the boss character, the what ifs, and charging and making a spirit bomb grow in the middle of the map

There are two more What If Sagas you can unlock the same way as Fateful Brothers - Beautiful Treachery and Eternal Rivals. If I remember right, the first one requires you to beat Transformed Zarbon with Vegeta in their first encounter, and the second requires you to beat SS Gohan with SS Goten before the World Tournament.

Fateful Brothers is the greatest What-If saga ever written for a DBZ game, beautiful stuff.

This is my favorite DragonBall game of all time. I used to visit my granddads house in Minnesota over the summer and me and my uncle would play this game all the time. I've recently played this game again and tenkaichi 3 for the first time. I enjoyed them both but this game just hits different

The only YouTuber to run this game for it’s absolutely BEAUTIFULLY done praise— is Retro Rebound. I LOVED BT2. i’ll always like BT3 and it’s sheer mass— but BT2’s substance and the sustenance of content you’re given, the freedom of customization, the potara combos to unlock all the characters and their transformations— oh my fucking god THIS game and Budokai 3 was what reignited my love of DBZ AND GT!!

Also— you can find dragonballs during some fights (like in the water during the first raditz fight, or behind/on some rocks in the field stage!
