Developing next-generation fibre optics

COVID-19 has seen people all over the world rapidly moving their work and social lives online; we have never relied on the internet more. Fibre optic networks that support today’s internet are being made possible by the Airguide Photonics programme, a £6 million research programme at the Optoelectronics Research Centre funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
