These 2000’s F1 cars are so small compared to modern F1 cars.

0:05 That sound is the highest pitch we’ll probably ever hear in f1. ☹️

0:13 - The way it takes the chicane shows just how big and heavy current F1 cars are.

Last V10 Renault F1 car.
He would induce understeer mid corner and gradually add throttle. He drove like this in this exact car in 2005

I remember going to Indy, not for the race but to listen to those V10's. Truely amazing!

I took F1 V10 engines for granted when I was growing up in the 90s, before I had an understanding of the combustion engine and where it was heading in the future. I just sort of assumed that was what an F1 car sounded like because they were the fastest cars in the world and obviously they're going to make a sound like that. The V8 was a step down, loud but quite harsh sounding and not particularly pleasant. Still so much better than the sound sound of the modern V6 turbo though. The nostalgia is unreal when I watch videos of the old V10 now, makes me tingle. The video of Nick Heidfeld setting the record at Goodwood Festival of Speed in the McLaren MP4-13 is particularly enjoyable. The howl and aggression in the exhaust note is just on another level. Oh well, grateful I was around when this was the sound of F1

The reason why R25 looks really fast is because of it's shorter wheelbase and overall length of the car. Short body means faster corner but at the expense of stability and almost guaranteed slide. That makes the car loses time during the exit. F1 cars nowadays are long and enormous, making them looks slow but actually more stable in corners.

But then again, it's not the corner speed that makes people hooked into F1. It's the glorious symphony of 10 screaming pistons that make F1, F-ONE. The V6T noise, as commented by the man himself, can be described with two words : GP2 Engine.

That was almost a full send of a historic car right now.

Reving it up to what was capable + this side slide on exits...

i was growing up in era of V12 and V10 engine.. when i heard V10 live on Race in Hungaroring i was so happy. i have just smille intire race. it was so good to hear that scream.. and now..that "coffe grinder engine" V6... and thats the end of F1 car for me.. i dont watch F1 animore.. its not excited anymore.. the new era of F1 car dont have that "WOW FACTOR".. and V6 engine will never have one..
