What would be the merit of a box-wing aircraft with the vertical positions of the wings reversed, so that the front-positioned back-swept wings are on top while the rear-positioned forward-swept wings are on the bottom? One concern that I might have on the current design is that, at a particular angle, the front wing would block some of the air from reaching the back wing, preventing the back wing from receiving lift. I'm hoping that changing the design up would help alleviate such a problem.

Box wing design also suits solar panel installation for smaller aircraft to maintain higher speed. You could generate 12kw per hour using NASA solar cells by covering an A380 wing, let alone fuselage. Current technology.

Interresting, I can't find any apparent flaws to this design so far.

well thats due to the extra lift provided by the rear wings...
