A small correction...

At 3:07 you write that the span of v1 and v4 is R x {0}. This, however, is incorrect, since this would just be the vector space {0}. You could have used R x {e1} here.
(although (call me a purist) I don't particularly like this notation, since the set it tries to describe is not exactly the cartesian product of R and {e1} - although it can be identified with it)
