So, I don't usually feel that for anyone, but for one particular person who makes me feel envious of her. I know in some way I feel inferior to her and that leads to this uneasy feeling. Somewhere inside my brain I know it's my problem, but I just end up getting envious of her. So I am working on giving more credits to myself and feel more grateful to who I am and want to become.

Once you choose to discard the feeling of envy, there's a pleasing feeling of peace in your heart. You can instantly feel it. You don't need to compete with others, you just need to keep growing at your own pace and be grateful of everything.

I think this fits the description of jealousy better than envy. At least according to Brené Brown, envy is wanting what others have, and jealousy is wanting what others have but also wishing they didn’t have it. For example, if you are envious of a person’s car, you might wish that you had the same sort of car yourself, but if you’re jealous of person’s car, you might wish that you had it instead of them. Hopefully that makes sense. I think jealousy comes with more resentment and ill will and such than envy does. Of course, that’s just one perspective, though.

i only have one friend, so she is obviously my best friend.
but i do get quite envious of her, especially in regards to her relationship with her bf, since they’ve been together for like 6 years and seem like they will be together forever.
i’m 22 and never even kissed anyone and even though i love her, i can’t help but get so jealous of her.
it’s really sad and it always feels like nothing is going to work out for me.

I have been a feeling a little bit envy of my colleague lately. She is completely opposite of me when it comes personality. She is outgoing, extrovert, lives independently, and have a great friend circle. While, I am not.
I have never travelled far off places alone. So, I am thinking to now find opportunities where I can travel more on my own and not be uncomfortable with that. Experiences like these will help come out of my shell and make me more confident.
I don’t to be exactly like her as I am me. But let’s not envy but take inspiration :)

Envy is a twisting of admiration. However, cosider how social injustices naturally feed envy (or bitterness). Is it understandable, even expected, that a slave be envious of one who is free? Their state of freedom. Especially if neither had any choice in their lot in life.
Nobody seems to ever think about this as it's not pop psych...
