Hilarious Mark Gungor Rant Exposing False Christians

This video features a hilarious rant by pastor Mark Gungor exposing false Christians, in response to a Christian contacting him with the question of "Can Christians get divorced?". Mark does a great job of dismantling a common lie within church circles that people can do whatever they like and a loving God will be fine with it. People who love the idea of Jesus but who aren't serious about the teachings of Jesus NEED to watch this!

What is "A Voice in the Desert"?

A Voice in the Desert is anonymous. Its purpose is to point people to the message, rather than the messenger. Most modern day prophets promote themselves more than the teachings of Jesus and the true message of Revelation. A Voice in the Desert challenges that error and more. Some of the things you hear on this channel may be difficult to understand, and may offend you. The goal, however, is to sweep away dogmas and traditions to reveal what Jesus actually taught.

READ THIS FIRST: We have recently opened our videos up for comments.  However, the comments are all moderated; they must be approved before they will appear.  Please be patient, as this could take a few days if I am busy with other things.

Here are some guidelines if you would like to have your comment approved:
1.   Keep it short. This rule is partly to help YOU.  People simply will not read long, rambling posts.
2.   Keep it relevant. (See also #3 & #4.)  Relate what you are saying to the video you are commenting on, or to something said by the person to whom you are replying.
3.   No sermons. If you want to preach, do so on your own channel.  This is a forum for discussion.
4.   Bible references: Say enough to indicate what the passage says, but major on sharing how you think it relates to the topic. Try to avoid chapter and verse references on their own.
5.   Rudeness will not be tolerated.
6.   No links. This is generally seen as trying to drag people away from this channel to some other channel or site.
7.   One point at a time. Many different arguments in the same post do not allow time for two sides to be heard on a single point. Share your best argument (or two), and see what happens.
8. Misinformation based on so-called Internet "research" that is not supported by credible evidence will be deleted.

Most Christians don't even recognise that Christ himself preached the good news and that it is a little different to the mainstream "gospel" commonly taught today ie believe in the ritual atonement of the Christ for your sins and your saved rhetoric. That's not the good news Jesus preached.

5:48 - When asked : "Do you know why ?", she answered : Ur-humm ! - in an approval manner. Did Mark give her the opportunity to answer WHY EXACTLY did it disappear ? The clip stops there.

1/50000 that seems quite harsh. I mean isn't staying out of a serious state of sin enough to not separate oneself from God

The problem with videos like this is the speaker finds the most extreme contradictory view, which is clearly already unbalanced, then over exaggerates a version of it to be even more unbalanced to make a point. The fact is, if you'd ask 99% of churches who teach similar things, they would agree with Mark in a general sense.
We make it about "us vs. them" when its we have way more similarities than differences. No church is going to play "anyway you want it" and ignore Jesus' teachings-- but they might emphasize some over others (which you did mention), but that same church could say Mark also emphasizes the wrong ones too...we all do. It just depends on the situation individually.
God may not say directly that He wants us to be "happy" but He does give us joy, which is an emotion and talk about joy a lot. The question is, how does joy look like for me in my walk? We could throw Bible verses at each other all day and get no where-- it's not about that, it's about RELATIONSHIP. We see heaven because of grace and our faith and we please God because of faith... not because we get it 100% right all the time. Every single one of us will get to heaven and get humbled because a lot side interpretations we had were incorrect or one-sided. I love most of Mark's work, and I think over all he is a good teacher, but he definitely enjoys putting other Christians down a little too much-- that is something I am NOT a fan of.
