My nightmares would usually include my parents watching me being swept away as well. They'd just watch staring as I'd be pulled away or killed in darkness.

holy this is actually really relatable as a kid.

I remember going to my grandfather's house when he was still alive, my nana would take me there sometimes to see how it's going and stuff. His house was kind of old fashion-like and just a simple small house with a nicely done couch and a T.V. just how It usually was. Sometimes when I was there when I was much smaller, I would sometimes need to use the bathroom, but the rest of the hallways there would always be dark. I would be scared to walk through the dark hallways and rooms of the house to get to the bathroom, always terrified me as a child.

The lighting on this is totally spot on for what nightmares are like. I always feel really closed in on in all my nightmares.

The monster is him. If you notice the knob descends at 1:10 when he is in the room. The reeds in a dream mean docility. The child was in a family in which his position was to do nothing about his problem. After TV focuses a dead fish means anxiety problems or an emotional overflow. When the television intersperses the child shouts: Mom. Maybe the child misbehaved just to get the attention of his parents or asked that one of them understood him.

This is much better than some horror films I've watched.
Great clay animation. I think it is very difficult to tell a story without spoken language, and you did it wonderfully.
It felt very relatable, as a kid I was always terrified of darkness. I would even pee myself out of fear.

And here I thought my nightmares as a kid were bad...Sorry you went through this nightmare multiple times as a kid. Mine usually involved people trying to call out for help while in pain or flashing multiple colors like a glitch. Was never fun.
