Everything I did to make this a fair test:
-Both phones have been freshly factory reset.
-All the apps have been fully updated to their latest available versions.
-I rebooted the devices multiple times after the updates were installed to make sure the updates completed.
-I completely turned off bluetooth (from settings, not the control center)
-Neither device had a sim card in it to prevent it from trying to access the network to download messages, voicemail, etc.
-All power saving features were turned off on both devices.
-The latest available firmware was installed on both device.
-Both phones were on the same Wi-Fi network.
-Both phones used the same wallpaper
-The Note 20 Ultra didn't have a micro SD card installed to make sure no apps were trying to access it at start-up.
-I kept animations turned on for the Note 20 Ultra, Samsung has just significantly increased the animation speed on the Note 20 Ultra vs previous Samsung devices. In other words, developer options were kept off.
-The Note 20 Ultra was set to 120hz at it's max allowable resolution of 2316 x 1080 because that makes the Note 20 work the hardest (refreshing 5 million pixels per second instead of 4.4 million pixels per second in 3088 x 1440 mode). Theoretically, the Note 20 Ultra may be slightly faster at it's max resolution of 3088 x 1440, but you will be limited to 60Hz. Personally, I highly recommend sticking with 120Hz. The difference in smoothness is substantial.
-The test section of the video was done in a single take to show that no apps were preloaded off screen.
