Press Conference on Encrochat

At a press conference on 27 June 2023, French and Dutch authorities, Europol and Eurojust will present the latest results of the joint investigation team set up to dismantle Encrochat, an encrypted phone network widely used by criminal networks.

The French and Dutch decrypted the conversation. The British were nowhere to be seen. It seems they allowed it to happen for so long in the uk. The criminals used the phone here as well but no one attempted to find out or didn’t bother. Respect to the French and Dutch for doing that.

Kudos to the simultaneous interpreter for doing an incredibly difficult job exceptionally well. However, can we all agree that communication would be much more efficient and clear if speakers spoke a common language that is widely understood. For example, oh I don't know, English? A language that used to be a political issue in the EU, because it would favor the UK, which is no longer an issue?
