CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Mulder (David Duchovny) is awestruck as a massive spaceship launches into the sky above him; Scully (Gillian Anderson) is barely conscious.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
This 60-million-dollar science fiction suspense drama (marketed with an additional 25 million dollars), was adapted from the popular TV series The X-Files -- arriving in theaters while the Emmy-winning series was still being aired, continuing plot threads familiar to many of the series' 25 million viewers, and featuring several familiar recurring characters introduced during the previous five TV seasons. In 15,000 B.C., a strange creature attacks a caveman. Cut to present day, when a boy at the same North Texas spot falls into a pit and is contaminated by a black substance. When a bomb threatens the Dallas Federal Building, special FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) locate the device but are unable to prevent the explosion. The agency blames Mulder and Scully for the disaster, subjecting them to lengthy interrogations while trying to sever their partnership. In a bar, conspiracy theorist Kurtzweil (Martin Landau), a friend of Mulder's father, tells Mulder about the group behind the explosion, the cover-up of the boy's death, the bodies of four infected rescue workers removed from the Federal Building, the secret government, and the forthcoming plague. Mulder and Scully set out to find answers, and their investigation becomes a foray into the fantastic.

I remember loving this scene because Mulder had pretty much spent all of season 5 believing he had been wrong about the existence of aliens and that the conspirators had lied to him. Then in one moment his faith in the paranormal is finally rewarded.

I don't get it. After all the things they've been through. You'd think Moulder would have at the very least started carrying a disposable camera back in the early 90's when they were everywhere. So many missed opportunities.

You can just tell scully is in awe of mulder rescuing her. The way she grabs him and pulls him against her when he passes out and her eyes just tell how thankful she is. It’s actually a very effective and emotionally touching scene between the two of them.

And once again, Scully fails to see the aliens, meaning she can maintain her belief they don't exist.

I will always love the fact that The X-Files got a movie released WHILE the show was still running! Me and my parents and sisters used to watch the it together, and as a kid I thought it was super awesome that they were able to make a movie out of it while still on. I'll never forget when I first watched it when we rented it! Most shows wait until after the series is done to get a movie out. But to get one out during a series run, that's how big of a grip a show like The X-Files had on the fans.

This movie was epic. The eye exchange between them as the craft flies off, wow what more could you ask for. If those aren't the looks of absolute adoration and affection I don't know what it must look like.

Best scene ever, from the spaceship engine sound hovering over them until it disappeared. Love it. I hope they continue this show.

Scene is much more meaningful now that I am older and followed along with the show. Mulder lost his faith in season 5 so this revelation brought back the Mulder from season 1-4.

This is just a beautiful scene with the spaceship hovering over them until it disappears and mulders reaction. Also the score is amazing too.

i think the most fantastic thing a movie can do is to make you sort of believe in the scene you're watching, and this is a great example, to my opinion at least. the spacecraft looks SOOOO good and so alien... FANTASTIC SCENE!

The most amazing scene in the movie! A massive spacecraft possibly millions of years old passing over head! Gives me goosebumps every time I see this scene! Too bad Scully didn’t see it!

I think the series should’ve ended on a movie like this after Season 9. Would’ve been fire.

Scully didn't see So of course in the very next episode she says" Mulder, there's no such thing as aliens. There's a logical explanation to this."
