A big thing with shy kiddos that I've often seen is that the parents often save their kids from answering far too much. No dissing on the parents, it's hard to see your kid uncomfortable, but they need to allow their child a chance to answer or they end up relying on parents to answer and be their voice

Its so sad to know you retired. I watched you ever since I was such a little kid learning a lot. Thank you for working for these Adults and Children and I know you still care for those little Angels as much as you did when you were a doctor. I really appreciate that you still repost your old videos to still entertain us. Thank you so much Dr. Paul. we will all miss you so much and we appreciate all the hard work you have done to entertain us and still entertain us. You are such an amazing, loving, kind, intelligent and sensible doctor. you are such a caring person. Thank you and God bless you thank you so much for working for us and standing strong. We know what you did was right. Thank you Dr. Paul God bless you. From Ivy Shea.

This was kind of how I acted when I was kid even now. Turns out I had autism! Its so nice to see you treat shy kids nicely

She's so cute it hurts. Also very well behaved for being sick. Congrats to the mom.

She is just precious! I have a shy 5 year old but as soon as she thinks you’re cool she’s a chatterbox! Lol

Hope she can grow out of it. Being shy has gotten me nowhere

Awe, you were so gentle and reassuring to the cute little girl. So sweet at the end when you let her pick out a gift! It was like Christmas because her eyes lit up and she was so excited. Hope you are doing well in your retirement, Dr. Paul.

People who are blaming the mom - She understands that the Dr ain't got all day to treat a single patient. She can practice training her child to be an extrovert at home instead of making the Dr wait 2 min for every single answer, if he asked the girl directly.

I still remember my pediatrician and I just turned 43 years old! This child reminds me of me, as I was very shy, but always felt safe and comfortable when I had my doctor visits with him and then got a sticker and lollipop afterwards and left with a smile! 😊

It's such a breath of fresh air to see a REAL doctor on Youtube and not some chiropractors pretending to be medical doctors.

Love the way you interact with both the patients and the care guver. Youre an excellent example how a doctor should communicate.

I think being shy is super cute and can be positive if everyone is kinda shy. It just gets a Problem when a shy person interacts with a person who is literally crossing all bonderies and super loud, aggresive etc.

I remember seeing this channel over a decade ago and then remembering it years later. Out of fluke, I found the channel again and resubscribed on the day Dr. Paul retired, as usual I hope all is well

Dr. Paul you remind me so much of Dr. Michelle who looked after both my Mom and I and my sister when we were small, he also decided to keep my mom on as an Adult patient and saw me right after I was born, thank you for all the work you have done, and I'm sure going to miss watching your videos.

Being shy and too "polite" got me the sunburn of the century, skin peeling and all. This is not as good as it seems, but parents tolerate problems that make the kids calm and silent.
