Audi E-Tron Key Fob Battery Replacement - EASY DIY

Here is a quick little video on how to replace your dead or weak battery in your Audi ETron key fob. This is also the same fob for the ETron GT. The first step you need to do is remove the mechanical key. The next step is to take either the screwdriver or key ( The manual recommends to use your key ) to push up the back cover. The tab is in the center under the back cover. Once you have the back cover off, you then have access to your weak battery.

the key is finding the tab that needs to be depressed prior to prying. it is in the center so go in at an angle until you meet resistance, then push and pry at the same time. it should not take much force.

this was no help at all. got nowhere and practically cracked open the case. the video is not realistic to help someone who has never done it before.

The 'key' is a small screwdriver. I would use one even smaller than he did. Like someone said in the comment, 'eyeglass screwdriver'.

How to reset the car though? Because even after changing the battery of the key fob to my AUDI Q8 2019, the car still has this annoying alarm when I start the car. Thanks

A little more detail on how the cover is held on would be nice. It's easy if you use a screwdriver with exactly the same size and shape as he does, and copy his movement exactly. But it shouldn't be that hard.... once you understand it, it's obvious but until then it's a mystery that this video doesn't explain.

It’s just easier to put an eyeglass screwdriver in between the plastic at top and pop it open and just put the battery.
