Just a few months ago, Volvo Car Malaysia updated the XC40.

Now the 2.0L petrol model is RM10,000 cheaper and sitting a little higher up the rung is this Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) called the Recharge T5 is considered the "flagship" variant.

It swaps out the 2.0L and 8-speed automatic for a 1.5L three cylinder and a 7-speed DCT, also adding an electric motor into the mix.

After spending a few days with this version, Subhash finds that it isn't quite as good as the petrol model overall.

Due to the ongoing Movement Control Order and worsening pandemic situation in Malaysia, a few of our upcoming videos will be one-man reviews. However, we still have plenty in the archive that will be uploaded periodically.

Basically Volvo wants us to buy bigger simpler engine cars!!! I support and can jive with the logic. Don't need to worry about hybrid system. This can go for those that wants to save polar bears and the other is a simpler "real" one. Go with the full "Clarkson".

not going to be volume seller, this T5 Recharge. Hopefully hydrogen powered Volvo will be available in near future. Definitely a challenge though
