ABUS CombiFlex 2501 Super Easy Cable Lock Instructions

Some short instructions on how the Abus 2501 cable lock works. It is very easy to reset the code, but the pictures are a bit obscure.

The lock is a three dial combination cable lock with retractable cable. It is good to lock up your bike helmet or saddle pouch so that you do not have to lug it around.

The Abus 2501 is very small and light (less than 3oz) and features a grippy coating that works well even when sweaty. Don't use this lock to lock up your bike though except for emergencies! You need a much stronger lock for that.

It sells online for $15 - $20

It can be a bargain since it is basically the same lock as the more pricey CombiFlex 201 and 202. The cable is 2" shorter but that hardly makes a difference. The cable is 26" long.

Thanks for this, I bought the 2503 which works the same way but the instructions didn’t make it clear that you need to hold the pin down whilst setting your code. Thank you for this video!

@SteinlockTV Can you still adjust the cable length when it's locked? I need a specific cordlength when it's locked, it should not be adjustable anymore when the wrong combination is set. Thank you in advance

Great instruction! My was pre set to 999 and that is not the default code so I wasn’t able to press down the key to choose to the new code until I turned it to 000 as you instructed.😅

I think there's something wrong with mine, it unlocks at all combinations, i tried all from 000 to 999
