Not shearing is animal abuse. There have been more than enough animals who died of heat stroke because they weren't sheared. You're not walking around in your nice warm winter clothes during summer, and animals shouldn't have to either.

Do these animals produce these amounts because humans chose to breed the ones that produced more wool? Yes, but that doesn't mean that the animals alive today should suffer.

My dog sulks and gives me the silent treatment for a couple hours after getting her nails trimmed. And she just sits there passively and lets the groomer do it. But she’s still mad at me afterwards. She’s not hurt in the slightest and she’s still pissy lol. PETA is making something out of nothing and it’s ridiculous.

Dude, I've seen sheep who hadn't been sheared in 2+ years. Some of the sheep get a little spooked since they're not used to it, but when it's done, they look so happy. I don't think people realise how heavy and matted the wool gets if you don't shear them regularly.
And It's not like the people are using straight razors and Sweeny Todd-ing them. They're using tools meant for the job and have their techniques down. As far as I'm aware, it's very rare for these animals to get nicked in the process.

It's very important to peel the sheep, llamas, and alpacas. Obviously these "activists" never did their homework otherwise they would actually understand what the process was.

by that logic it's also abuse to trim a dog's nails or cut mats out of a cat's fur, or give them medicine or a bath. all of these things are beneficial to their health and necessary for them to live long and happy lives, but many of them of course do not like it. of course you should make sure any animal is as calm and relaxed as possible so they aren't as fearful or stressed, but you will always have to restrain them in some way if they don't like what you're doing

The mental acrobatics of those people are on an Olympic level. They are seriously demanding to stop 'animal abuse' by shearing, which isn't abusive at all, in favor of actual animal abuse - not shearing animals that need it. If you want to do something against animal abuse, just look up your local shelters, pick a good one and volunteer, Peta just sucks, NEVER donate to/volunteer for them.
