Julliard-trained pianist, Jon Batiste, was born into one of the two most 'Royal Families of Jazz in New Orleans, the Batiste family, being one; and the Marsalis Family, being the other; whose members often played together!! This young man is the newest hope for the future of Jazz in America!!

I've never seen anything like the live show these cats bring. They just played for us up in Oakville, Canada a few nights back and they completely devastated the place. I had a chance to hang for a bit with Ibanda, Eddie and Jon in a restaurant right before the concert, and it gave me some insight into how they're able to corral so much individual talent into a cohesive force that hits even harder than the sum of its parts. In a word: Generosity. Each dude is unbelievably hip, but he ain't gonna try to out-hip you. Sure, he'll speak with his own particular brand of genius when it's his turn, and it'll blow your mind. But when it's your turn he'll listen to, support, and ultimately celebrate you. That's gotta be what makes great collaboration like this possible, onstage and off. Stay human fellas -- you do it so well, and it does this world so much good.

I was recently turned on to this very bright musical star from the NPR Piano Jazz podcast recorded in 2011. I purposely don't have television service, and was unaware that he is the new CBS Late Show bandleader. He is an amazing talent with a very charismatic presence.

They played at my school and blew away all the kids. Most of us were amateur musicians so we knew exactly the advanced level these musicians were playing at.

One of the most powerful performances Ive ever heard. I couldn’t hold back tears as I heard that saxophone, man. They just kept coming! Wish NASA would make a second voyager record just for this!

One of the greatest bands out there; every single show filled with passion. You haven't truly experienced live music until you see these guys play. Jon, Joe, Eddie, Ibanda are all amazing.
