Why is this song describing our society. Like dam it's true though. Everyone gets paid the same, crime, people just get into fake relationships, gossip, etc etc.

Here’s something I think of the lyrics and the meanings

First part :
There is a man and woman, the man has a sister who is married to his wife’s brother . The point is that no one in the family talks to the man’s sister about it cause all they care about is just continuing the bloodline .

Second part : 
employees works for a manager and the manager thinks they’re better then the employees but the manager is just another employee working for the boss and the boss works for owner and all of them thinks they are better then the ones below them but in reality they are all the same just with higher roles in the business .

Third part :
I believe the bank represents the government and the people/criminals represent the citizens of that government . Money in the bank represents rights and laws . When the government takes rights instead of protesting the citizens resort to violence till the government gives the, what they want .

The chorus : 
“Don’t believe everything that you hear” self explanatory , don’t believe everything you hear on the news or on websites or from other people . “ let it go though your left and right ear” when you hear something look into it and think about it, if it’s not true just ignore it . “ don’t just follow that beat of that drum” you shouldn’t just believe your mind but also your heart and your gut feeling, cause they all should work together to make a decision or idea . “ don’t be one of those people just twitting their thumbs” I believe twitting your thumbs means worrying about something that what isn’t true, don’t be one those people who worry about small things or things that aren’t true cause it only makes you weaker and more likely of a victim of trolls and fake news .

This song is a perfect highlight of society
It’s an illusion to an okay life if you’ve got a job and a bank account, when really, you’re working for someone else, not yourself, and you’re getting robbed by the banks
But we just keep twiddling our thumbs and ignoring the problems, not making an effort to repair a broken society
