Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)

It's time to start talking about coronaviruses. Many people may remember the outbreak of SARS in 2003, which was a mysterious respiratory disease that was then linked to a coronavirus, which was called SARS-CoV. This was the first of three unusually pathogenic coronaviruses that culminated with the one responsible for the current pandemic, so let's get some important backstory.

4:15 I'd like to state that this only applies to SARS-CoV-1(spread in 2003), not SARS-CoV-2(the virus that has caused the current pandemic), the fatality rate is closer to 0.4% below age 50 and overall the mortality rate for SARS-CoV-2 is only 3.4%, not even close to 10%.

I'm aware that you make the distinction, but some people might not have noticed.

"Since the global incident in 2003, there have only been a few instances of SARS in the world, all of which were contained and most of which were acquired in a laboratory setting."

Have you got citations for any of those claims? I can't find any numbers about SARS after 2004.

SARS usually begins with flu-like signs and symptoms — fever, chills, muscle aches, headache and occasionally diarrhea. After about a week, signs and symptoms include:

Fever of 100.5 F (38 C) or higher
Dry cough
Shortness of breath👍

I’m the only person I’ve heard mention this, but I’m an NFL fan, and I realized really early on, that with the measures & protocols the NFL put into place, they are essentially funding the most intensive and detailed COVID19 research trial.
They have to have extremely useful information at this point, that can be shared & projected over the larger population?
1. They did intake blood testing, nasal swab and questionnaires for not only 70+ players per team, but coaches, training, medical, support staff, business staff, communication staff, independent media, essentially anyone that would be going in and out of the building. That’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 200-300 people for each of the 32 teams, plus referees and league staff. That’s at the very least 6, 000 people of different races, ages, genders, physical condition, etc.
2. They’ve been testing all of these people on a daily basis for 5 months & these aren’t the “quick tests”, they all go to a network of labs throughout the country to be processed. Imagine the cost alone on administering & processing, what has to be over a million tests at this point?
3. They’ve monitored every case, down to genome testing, to establish if 2 players on the same team caught the virus from each other or if they each contracted it from separate sources.
4. Everyone also wears tracking bracelets when they are in the building.

They NFL has to have a good idea of:
1. The percentage of asymptomatic cases.
2. Percentage of Mild cases.
3. Percentage of serious cases.
4. Possible genetic markers & impact.
5. Percentage of people who contracted the virus more than once, and any differences between those contractions.
6. More detailed Incubation period information.
7. More detailed contagious period information.
8. I believe they still have zero transmissions from “on field play, from team to team”, transmissions have happened in the locker rooms &/or on teams own sidelines.
9. Treatment results.
10. Doctors got to investigate known positive cases prior to any symptoms developing.

I haven’t heard anyone mention if these results will be published by the NFL Doctors who are collecting, conducting and evaluating all of this information?
I really hope they do, because the amount of money and circumstances to get this kind of information from a trial is nearly impossible for anyone else to replicate, especially for the regular medical community who’s resources & focus has to be on treating the most severe cases.
