"Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory", also known by the name of its tune, 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic', was written by the American writer and poet Julia Ward Howe in 1861 at the outbreak of the Civil War.

The tune is 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic', which was apparently collected and edited by the American bookkeeper and insurance agent, William Steffe. The tune was also used for 'John Brown's Body' before Julia Ward Howe decided to use it for her hymn.

It is performed here by the Westminster Abbey Choir.

After prayer last night I just bust out singing this song. I was not thinking about it nor had I heard it for a looong while. I must print out the lyrics and keep it in my Bible. I do believe that we are living in the last of the Last Days. And all Christians everywhere, should raise up in the spirit and with the Holy Spirit's help, share the Gospel like never before, because Jesus IS coming soon!
