China has been remodelling its public transport network as part of its green push. In 2017, the southeastern city of Shenzhen became the world’s first to have its buses go fully electric. Since then, cities like Beijing and Shanghai have followed suit. China is the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases, and experts say pollution was a major factor in its decision to make the switch.

I recently travelled on the Hong Kong - Macau - Zhuhai bridge on a BYD electric bus! What a great experience… Quiet, clean and smooth!

Per capita, it's not the largest emitter. Do you expect a nation of 1.4 billion to have the carbon emission of Vatican??
not to mention we outsource our manufacturing to China, which means much of their pollution are not theirs to begin with

meanwhile the United States, a fourth of China's population, consumes 30% more oil than China, let that sink in.

It's also so easy for a developed nation to point fingers at developing countries, when you already went through the industrial phase and have tens thousands of factories in developing nations...

After China cities, Bogota Colombia has the largest fleet of electric buses, all with BYD brand

Many of these manufacturers are winning tenders in Norway, too, and the busses work as expected. It's a great application: On heavy vehicles, the added weight of batteries doesn't matter much. In cities, reduced local pollution is extra appreciated. And the very real noise reduction matters greatly in residential areas. Once most of the charging capacity is providing by green power, this is real step into a better future.

To everyone saying China is the biggest CO2 emitter.
China is also the world's factory. They produce and manufacture a large % of the world's goods while having the most population.
Yet in terms on CO2 emission per capita, they are not even in top 20 of CO2 emitters.
In fact, U.S emits twice as much as China while having very little manufacturing output

China having 4x the population of U.S + being the World's factory While emitting half the CO2

In India, you can smell the exhaust of diesal truck and public transport buses while walking on the footpath. Indian cities are the most polluted in the world and on top of that Indian government is declining to accept Chinese EV companies to invest and open shop in India. 😢

I am living in North America so proud to watch the advancement of the public transportation in China.

China is indeed the biggest emitters of CO2 because it has a huge population and is a big country. But measured on a per capita basis, middle eastern countries are ranked at the top. The big 3 emitters which happened to be huge countries (China, USA, India) are not even near the top on a per capita basis. But if you want to measure total output since the time of industrialisation, then I daresay USA is still holding Number 1. EU as a region may come close since industrialisation started in Europe and London is like how Delhi looks today, or even worse.

Gavin Newsom was there to buy these gadgets. Kudos to California for being woke, most yanks still believe that theyll get kidnapped by Chinese government the moment they land there 😂

The chinese SKS buses in GoKL are actually quite comfortable, sadly our depot for GoKL Turquoise Line can't fit enough buses for now, not really the best example but they're much better than the old KingLong buses in T-223 Line.

With CATL & BYD, China has a chokehold on the EV battery market with more than 75% global share. In the next few years, EVs will become so mainstream that you won't believe the exponential adoption. Buses, cars, and motorcycles everywhere will be EV-based. Go, China, go!

Why not put solar panel on top of the buses?
