Props to Sam for CORRECTLY putting the box top on for all us other OCD folks!

I’m keeping Kingdomino because it is one of my favorite games to play with my four year old. But, I am really looking forward to playing my copy of Queendomino!

To answer Sam and from Bruno Cathala himself : Queendomino was developed after Kingdomino went out

I love how you just let Sam's joke die. No edits. Awkward all the way :)

This might be one where we end up getting both, because you can combine them to make the game a 7x7 grid. And then for very very new gamers, or if we have limited time we can just play Kingdomino, and then Queendomino the rest of the time. Having the choice would be nice. Especially when Kingdomino is only $12.99 on CoolStuff, so having both most likely won't break our very small banks. Does anyone know what MSRP for Queen is?

Queendomino > Kingdomino?

Personally, I believe MonarchDomino (with both together like what Tom said) is the best version of it. You have more tiles, it takes no longer than 45 mins and 7x7 ftw!

I feel like the Dice Tower undervalues game simplicity. Kingdomino is a game I can play with almost zero teaching. That simple elegance is what makes it so great. I think the most apt comparison is Love Letter vs Lost Legacy. Tom said something similar there - that Lost Legacy was the better game, but in adding those few more rules it lost the simplicity which makes Love letter so approachable. Lost Legacy has almost disappeared at this point, but Love letter marches on.

I'm with Sam... Box lid and bottom must match!!! (and instruction book too, OK I'm crazy)

My wife only plays vanilla Carcassonne, and I would NEVER try to teach her this without her playing Kingdomino first.

It bothers me that so many gamers can't enjoy simple games. King Domino is such a simple and streamlined puzzle game, SO easy to play with anyone. I love this game as much as I love any complex game. Definitely want to try Queen Domino though

Never actually laughed at any of the banter before, but Zee getting angry at Sam's failed joke was gold.

Question is, why play queendomino rather than a host of other nice euros? Kingdomino is clear to me: simple, quick, easy to teach, elegant. What is it that would make queendomino replace other excellent euros?

Could you get this, but essentially play Kingdomino? I think the only issue would be the red squares that wouldn't do anything

Loved that music between the intro and the rules overview. Also, the game looks really good too, haven't played king domino but it looked so simple I wasn't certain I wanted to play it yet. Maybe for the Queendomino looks more my speed. Oh and Sam's joke segment being left in there was just hilariously mean! :) Queensburg....I'd play that game.

I know it’s an older review and an older game at this point but I bought Queendomino first and liked it a lot, only to learn that for young kids, Kingdomino wins hands down. I play it with my kids and they can pretty much fully grasp the rules. Queendomino not quite so much. Really though, owning both is the right option.

Kingdomino his great for a family game. My kids, 9, 11, 15 love it. I see why Queendomino is more a "gamer' game. But how is it for younger gamer?

Seems like a really good game that I would enjoy! However, I love King Domino because my mom and dad don't like having to learn complex strategy games! Not that this is complex but my mom would not like having to think about everything! They like King Domino because we can play two or three rounds and then put it away and it hasn't been a million years! Now to be fair, I would probably enjoy the complexity of this more, but King Domino is still going to win over this because I can play it with gamers and non-gamers!

I really love Kingdomino but I agree that it is a little simple so this sounds amazing. When is it out? (I might have missed it)

Queendomino is basically kingdomino with an expansion...😁👍🏻

Simplicity can do wonders if employed properly. King domino IMHO does just that: a very simple yet - or therefore, I should rather say - very enjoyable game. Not gonna make you think very hard, not gonna work your brain too much - but who said good games all must do that?
