I am happy to report that I have had my slicer since the 80 and it is still going strong .
I'm also happy to see the more compact model with the storage . I am ordering it since my son the chef keeps borrowing mine when the fancy electric cutter dies on them at the restaurant !
He loves it but I didn't know they were still available so was reluctant to part with mine,
when I get my new one I will gift him the old one it's got a lot of years yet, incredibly sharp still .
The one I have is the 'V' cut, reliable and strong .
I slice and dice then place in small bags and freeze, saves me time and money .
Great product, can't recommend it highly enough, a must for every kitchen !

I still have the original slicer from the 80's - its now 2018 -  Over 30years of durability. The fine tooth dicing blade recently broke and was wondering if the lifetime warranty that was marketed with the product would still be honored? It has been one of THE most well made product that I have ever owned.

We've had ours since the late '80s. The blades are starting to separate at the V. I see the new design is better supported. We just ordered a new one from Amazon. Can't wait!

Are there any videos in English that show how to insert the blades and change settings? This is the only decent English video I've been able to locate and it completely skips that part. Lots of people on Amazon are returning it because they can't figure out how to set it up properly.

I have this came from Swissmar, is it the same? I just received it and noticed that the plate/blade does not lock in place when it’s in the setting with the arrows, it locks horizontally, but not vertically. Is the right? I noticed that on the other settings (without the arrow) it locks both horizontally and vertically.,
