The Movement - Orange Sky (Official Music Video)
Off our ‘Ways Of The World’ album, featuring SOJA, Iya Terra, Stick Figure, and Chali 2Na
This video was shot on tour at Great Dunes National Park in Colorado, and the Ocala National Forest near DeLand Florida. The footage was edited by Elizabeth Fowler, incorporating her own footage from work with National Geographic and more. Additional live footage courtesy of Global Extreme Media and Kyle Mackey. Music co-written with Amp Live and produced by Johnny Cosmic.
"I feel like this is the most poetic song on the record, and is subject to the most interpretation. It’s probably the hardest to understand and would take my explanation to get it. I wrote these lyrics on tour, in the van, driving through the desert in Arizona. I was marveling at the fact that, at one point in time, that desert was an ocean. The sky was an amazing hue of orange and I began writing a song very similar in theme to Ways of the World and Redwoodz - Time and space, and our existence in it is so incredible. Don’t waste your time here." - Joshua Swain
Happy Spring Equinox!!

LYRICS:
Orange sky over desert and the land so dry
The dirt thirsts for a teardrop
It's like the heavens abandoned the sands of time
The Gods fled for the treetops
Long ago in its stead was a forest of green
Beyond all imagination
And then an ocean so blue, so deep it would seem
To swallow all of creation
And if I had the power to rewind these years
And travel back through the ages
I'd watch the story unfold through a river of tears
As I longed to rewrite these pages
You
When are you gonna wake up
You can't live life for the weekend
Orange sky and the temperature at 113
Them go hide from their lifeline
I know the tectonic plates shift under me
But they won't split apart in my lifetime
Sacred are the bones of the primitive man
Only had the great spirit to lean on
Palms pressed together as they sit in the sand
Praying for eons and eons
And if I had the power to rewind these years
And travel back through the ages
I'd watch the story unfold through a river of tears
As I longed to rewrite these pages
You get out of bed and wonder how much money can you rake up
Then I'm afraid you're still sleeping
When are you gonna wake up
You can't live life for the weekend
You
When are you gonna wake up
You can't live life for the weekend
