Love the satire of this opening; how we're forced to deal with growing up, told to learn this and that, and then thrown into the real world totally unprepared with maybe a pet to help keep us together. Wish I realized this watching as a kid.

You can tell Joe Murray animated the intro because he constantly redraws every on screen model for every movement _and_ non movement. The guy's a powerhouse.

always wondered why everyone in the opening credits seemed to hate him? He never did anyone wrong and was a nice guy who kept to himself. People are assholes and I think this cartoon was a warning of what to expect in real life when we later grew up and became adults.

I love this show. It represents everything about the 90's that made that decade such a unique time: the skewed artwork, subversive humor, social commentary....and that off-beat alternative rock intro. After watching this again I find myself thinking of how distant and out-of-step this would be in today's world of slick, ironic, epileptic sugar rush cartoons.

I vaguely remembered watching this on NickRewind and this theme lives rent free in my head. I'm a 2000s kid so I didn't see the og airing of this show but I still enjoyed watching it. The "SPUNKY!" Part is what I remember the most.

My favorite part about this opening will always be the metaphor of the clock hitting baby rocko and turning him older "time hits you hard"

A pretty realistic perspective of social life in the 90's, in a comical cartoonish way, like those "The far side" calendars back then...

Man, this opening is so much better. Better rhythm, more interesting music, and more going on with the audio. Why did they change it?! Because someone didn't like the high pitched voice?

Seasons 2 and onward for its intro is iconic but I truly loved this one more.
And loved that this intro was the ringtone on the cell phone for the Winds of Change cloud on the Netflix movie

I love that Heffer gets to have the last word at the end of the intro. It just shows how important of a character he is to the show.

Gotta love growing up in the 90s.So many brilliant cartoons.From Rocko to Rugrats to Hey Arnold to Ducktales to Doug to Ren and Stimpy and I could on and on.Rocko is my favorite of them all.
