We define linear combinations and the notion of a spanning set of vectors. Lecture 12 (video) accompanies Lecture Notes 12 (PDF).

This video accompanies a course taught at VCU, and is based on material presented in classes at both VCU and UC Davis. The source material for much of this video (and the other videos in this series) can be found in the textbooks "Introduction to Linear Algebra" by Gilbert Strang and "Elementary Linear Algebra" by Ron Larson. All errors and misconceptions are entirely my own. I highly recommend that students obtain both of these books for their studies.
