You're always posting the right stuff at the right time. 😌 Now if my new fruit trees don't die from the chemicals they're spraying in the sky I will be very pleased. 😄

To avoid confusion:

*monoecious* plants have both male and female flowers, and may be self fertile; planting another of the same plant may improve pollination. Some, but not all monoecious plants require a genetically dis-similar partner in order to pollinate (hence the _may_ be self fertile)

*Dioecious* plants have either male flowers, or female flowers, but not on the same plant. If you want these plants to be pollinated, you will need both males and females within an appropriate distance from each other. As Luke said, the distance can be quite large.

*Hermaphroditic* plants have both male and female organs in the same flower. Planting an additional one will not improve pollination.

If you only have space for 1 tree, get a multi graft tree. Where different varieties are put on 1 tree.

You can also remember that if you have two trees of the same variety it's basically the same as if you had only one tree as apple and pear varieties are clones.

You need a different variety and one that has compatible pollen that blooms at the same time as the tree you're trying to pollinate. Also, a 5 mile away tree doesn't get you very much fruit. A pollinator within 50 to 100 feet is better. Also remember you can use a crabapple tree as a pollinator for normal apples, if they have white flowers.

I have an Ayers pear, Bartlett pear, Reliance peach, Belle of Georgia peach, and a gala apple trees can you tell me what I should put down when planting them? Like what type of soil and how far apart they have to be? I wanted to make like a small orchard style area in my yard with these trees but I'm not sure if I can depending on how I need to plant them

can it ever hurt to have multiple cultivars though? like exclusively self-fruitful? i know between different plants there can be issues, like with walnut trees producing juglone which kills apple trees and a few others, but i dont think that between plants of the same species cross pollination can be bad, right?

🤔🧐🤔🧐🤔🧐🤔🧐🤔🧐
Analogy of biblical concepts:

God= self fruitful
Angel or Nephilim =semi self fruitful Humans =self unfruitful

Brain +nervous system tissue/nerves of a human is = to a sprouted seed….

The stuff around the nervous system = the “dirt” we’ve been planted into…. Bones represent something like stony ground? Or perhaps some equate to a support structure that is set to direct our development- maybe that’s the same thing….?

This is a new analogy I’m working on… I don’t have it all worked out completely 😊
