Nasa and other space organizations have sent various animals into space and it can be quick shocking to see some results of what happened. Whether it’s trying to grow sunflowers at the space station or

5. Robonaughts
The Robonaught is Nasa’s first humanoid robot astronaut and he could be the future of space technology. He’s even got his own twitter page and is about to ruin your chances of becoming an astronaut! How much more life like can you get? It almost makes more sense for robots to be astronauts instead of humans considering how the job can get quite dangerous. His human counterparts need to be fully stocked with food, water and a bathroom. No fancy spacesuits or oxygen masks for this 8 foot robot. Before we actually get a man on Mars, this robot could be there first. His eyes are actually 4 visible light cameras inside his golden helmet. The robot seems to be getting more life like as the years go by. Nasa finally gave him a pair of legs too. According to our intelligence, the russians are constructing their own robonaut which may make to space in just 3 more years. Will it reach mars before ours does?

4 Growing Zucchini
So if astronauts could somehow grow their own food while in space, it would help them travel further distances right but how is it even possible with barely any natural light or gravity. The force of gravity helps with plant growth and it may be a little bizarre. An astronaut by the name of Don Pettit kept a blog on his experiments trying to grow plants in outer space. After reviewing his post it appeared as though he brought not only zucchini but sunflowers and broccoli as well. He took this photo of his sunflower and you can tell it’s not ready to be plucked and given to your girlfriend. He was able to get the zucchini to sprout but doesn’t go into much detail. The results of the experiment seem to show that the roots will grow towards the light instead of growing down into where soil would be. Scientists are also hoping to create some type of space gel which can act as a type of soil.

3. Squids in Space
It almost sounds like a horrible space movie and an experiment one one would want to be apart of. Hawaiian bobtail squids were taken to the final frontier. But this wasn’t really to see how the squid would behave in outer space. Oh no. They infected the squid with a symbiotic bacteria one it made it to orbit. The bacteria survived just fine as opposed to the squid and it was shown that as long as the bacteria had a host. The squids tissue was completely colonized despite the lack of gravity and it’s really starting to seem like there are a lot of microorganisms. It’s not exactly clear why squids were chosen but scientists seem to be interestested in the type of tissue it’s made from.

2. Flatworm regeneration
Nasa seems to be sending just about everything into space these days including flatworms without their heads we should ad. Scientists are curious about these creatures because they have the ability to regenerate another head after being decapitated. The heads and tails of 15 flatworms worms were removed and you guess it, launched into space! The results were also quite shocking! One flatworm regenerate with two heads. Researchers then cut it to pieces again and it still regenerated two heads! It had been 18 years since scientists have seen this happen. Various variables were experimented with including darkness levels and being kept in water or not. It really seems like an idea only a crazy person would have. There certainly seemed to be quite difference between the worms of outer space and the worms back on earth

1.Super Bacteria
Will someone keep nasa from launching everything into space before they cause the zombie apocalypse! The horrifying effects of both salmonella and e coli where witnessed that have never been seen before. It was sent 20 miles from earth’s atmosphere and the results were shocking. They need to think twice before they launch things into space. Typically these viruses aren’t fatal but it began to reproduce at a very fast rate and no one really wanted to get exposed to it once it came back to earth. After testing some samples, it was clear that it was much more dangerous than if they hadn’t sent it to space. Something about the conditions in outer space seem just right to for certain microbes to flourish. Good job nasa, your next step is send some type of squid or monkey you’ve injected with mutant e coli and see how it goes! Before you know it, some squid money hybrid may take over the space station and houston would have a serious problem on their hands. So watch out!

I don't like it. I like the fact that we are exploring other places to see what is out there. I don't like us using animals though. I find it cruel. Not only do they not get a say so, of course, but they also get harmed and die. Why must we put animals in space?
