California AG Rob Bonta won't take a position on Prop 36

California Attorney General Rob Bonta on Thursday would not take a position on Proposition 36, despite being a major supporter of a slate of organized retail theft bills that state leaders tried to use to negotiate the measure off of the ballot. Prop 36 asks California voters to enhance the penalties for some drug and theft crimes, primarily targeting repeat thieves and fentanyl dealers.
