Applying hand-rubbed guitar body burst effect with PureColor water based stain on flame maple

This was the second step in applying a “dragon fire” burst effect by hand. The first two colors were water based stains from PureColor. First I did a full layer of their Espresso stain, then sanded it back with 220 on a random orbital sander to where it starts in the video. In this clip you’re seeing application of the Magma stain color.
