Vaccinating Farmworkers: UC Davis Health Brings COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic to Local Vineyard
Показать описание
The UC Davis Center for Reducing Health Disparities and non-profit partner organizations have mobilized a community-based initiative to offer COVID-19 shots to Hispanics and African Americans across Sacramento and Yolo Counties. The initiative, called MOVE IT UP, is funded by a $5 million grant from FEMA. The effort seeks to boost immunization rates in communities that either lack information about the COVID-19 shot or don’t easily trust the federal government’s push for vaccinations. MOVE IT UP sends UC Davis Health nurses and other employees to locations that are convenient to families, students and workers, including schools and churches. A recent visit to Pamukey Yolo Vineyard near Esparto in rural Yolo County resulted in nearly 20 vaccine doses, mostly to agricultural workers.
