i really like that the writer stopped ‘using, ’ however still has the mindset that he was a burden, etc etc. still rlly has the mindset of when he was using. thats something you dont hear much about. stopping using seld destructive coping mechanisms stops the self destruction, but not the need to cope, and its nice to hear a song really recognize that.

Slipped up last week and started using again. I came here for the last few days to remind why I stopped in the first place.

Replacing love with constant drug use just makes you numb and when you come down, you feel the absent love all over again.

I've struggled with persistent depressive disorder for as long as I can remember. I've been very blessed to have received consistent therapeutic and psychiatric treatment since I was a child, but because my symptoms persisted in spite of this, I sincerely considered myself an exception when other people said, "It gets better." After 21 years of symptoms ranging from suicidal to manageable / high-functioning, I can actually say that today I'm in partial remission. It kindly stopped for me.
