Black lung disease is still killing miners today

This is a short from my full length video on black lung disease.

Black lung disease has been the scourge of the coal miner since the very dawn of the mining industry. In this video, I trace the history of black lung disease (aka mineworkers pneumoconiosis or CWP) in the US and UK and how massively it impacted countless miners and their families well into the 20th century.

Occupational health and safety measures were eventually implemented to curb the spread of the disease, which is believed to have reduced CWP numbers by up to 90%, but since the turn of the 21st Century, the number of those affected has again started to rise.
