Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return in Trolls World Tour, an all-star sequel to DreamWorks Animation’s 2016 musical hit. In an adventure that will take them well beyond what they’ve known before, Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) discover that they are but one of six different Trolls tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. 20 years ago I used to dance to this classic from daft punk on the dance floors in the clubs, now all this time later my 8 year old daughter has discovered this because of trolls and I dance to it with her. You see classics like this in films are great because they bring the music from these great musicians to a whole new generation :)

There is actually something I have a hypothesis about centered around the techno trolls. A detail to notice is that the main color of techno trolls has changed over time, each race having a basic color to them but not strictly that color, rock is red, country is orange, classical is yellow, funk is purple, and pop is pink, but in the hip-hop history scene we could see that the main color for the techno trolls was green and their string was also green. You could say that just the color of the techno trolls changed but if you look at their string after the crazy train scene you can see it is distinctly blue, not a trick of the light, it is definitely blue. My hypothesis is that basically the techno trolls were originally a different genre that then evolved into techno. Techno came out of a style of German Electro-pop, like kraftwerk, which the hypothesis goes that the techno trolls were originally Electro-pop trolls that inhabited fresh water but then after leaving the unity of the past they went into the ocean and adapted to the salt water and made their music more distant from pop.

They really did put a lot of thought into the techno trolls. If you look at the original daft punk video, it has all the colours, themes and rhythms of that video. I loved the way they waved like the bars on a volume. Best cover ever!
