2. The official language of Afghanistan is Pashto, which is spoken by the Pashtun ethnic group, which makes up the largest ethnic group in the country. Dari, a variant of the Persian language, is also widely spoken.

3. Afghanistan has a long history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Paleolithic era. The region was conquered by Alexander the Great in the 4th century BCE, and later became part of the Maurya and Gupta empires.

4. Afghanistan has a predominantly Islamic population, with around 99% of the population adhering to Islam. The majority of Afghans follow the Sunni branch of Islam.

Correction: Afghanistan has two official languages: Dari and Pashto. Pashto is spoken mainly by Pashtuns but Dari among other ethnic groups maily Tajiks, Hazaras, Aimaqs and Qizilbash. Dari which is another name for Persian in Afghanistan is the lingua franca in Afghanistan which around 80-90% can speak it, while only 35-40% can speak Pashto.
