I’ve always isolated journaling to documenting the happy and/or exciting moments of life. Because I like to make ‘pretty’ pages, I simply thought that I’ve gotta write about ‘pretty’ things (let’s roll with it😁) in conjunction with decor.

This video has freed me from that and I’m gonna give journaling about current events a try. You said it perfectly, it’s about adding one’s voice to history.

I’ve started documented my everyday events in creative way since the end of 2020.. before that I only wrote them in a small diary, jot it down in a bullet point, boring I know lol but yeah, doing creative journaling for current events made me remember it easily compared to just writing bc of all the images/colours I chose to illustrated the day. I love how you used vintage images in analogy of current events. That's so cool how our predecessors went through some of the same type protesting scenarios as today's hot topics. Your journal is a great representation of how history repeats itself in slightly different ways. That is so neat about how you share ideas on ways for us to memorialize what we were doing during these major news events and how we felt about it. I have journaled since I was nine. 1960. There are some memories I wrote of that came before 1960 because they connected. Throw years ago as my friends started dying and my mom disappeared in Alzheimer’s I stopped. My last entry was April 10, 2018. All the work, all the marches, all the times I taught children, all for nothing. I don’t know.
