Happiness is like a safe. You try all the things that just might make you happy but it still doesn’t feel any different. And finally, one day there is a choice that seems like the only right option, but when you open that safe you only realize that it’s empty. Just like your heart is when that one thing in life that makes you happy gets taken away from you. Yes, you should be used to this by now, but it still hurts more than the time before. And when you finally decide to put money into that “safe” it doesn’t feel as safe as it should. Because the truth is when you put your heart and soul into that safe the “only right option” vanishes right before you. Locking away the very heart of your existence. So then you vow to never open that safe again knowing that today may be the very last day that dial is turned. Knowing that today may be the very last day your heart pulses just like the ticking of the dial on the safe that “protects” your soul. Maybe someday somebody will notice your pain, but they won’t ever be able to obtain the combination to help.
