Για όσους δεν έχουν παρακολουθήσει τα βίντεο με την φωλιά των περιστεριών, που όπως φαίνεται ήταν τρύπα υποδοχής εκρηκτικών, δείχνω εδώ ένα, για να δουν από που άρχιζε αυτή η τρύπα, πριν την χαλάσει ο φορτωτής:

Αποχωρώντας οι Γερμανοί το 1944 από τη χώρα μας, έβαλαν εκρηκτικά και ανατίναξαν το κανάλι, όπως και τις δύο γέφυρες, τις οποίες έριξαν μέσα στο κανάλι.
Συνολικά 645.000 κυβικά μέτρα γης και βράχου, 1800 τόνοι χάλυβα μαζί με 130 σιδηροδρομικά οχήματα, 6 ατμομηχανές και άνω των 40 τόνων σιδηροτροχιές έπεσαν στη Διώρυγα και την κατέστησαν απροσπέλαστη για τη ναυσιπλοΐα.

This is where the Germans planted explosives in the Corinth Canal during World War II.
Until yesterday, before the loader damaged the hole, I thought it was just a pigeon nest. But when I saw that the hole that started from the water, reaches deep into the slope of the Corinth Canal, all my questions were solved, as to how it could have been created!
It was one of those holes that the Germans had put explosives in, after their defeat in World War II and during their retreat.
Elderly people who live in the Isthmias and were children in 1944, told me that the Germans had placed explosives elsewhere in the Corinth Canal, but not all of them exploded. The ones that exploded resulted in the canal being closed for 5 years, until they cleaned it up. In the video description I have two more videos. One to understand the size of the hole and the other to see that there is still a hole a little further.
For those who haven't seen the videos of the pigeon nest, which appears to have been an explosives receiving hole, I'm showing one here, so you can see where that hole started, before the loader messed it up:
