This is VERY TRUE! My Dad was not there, My Stepdad was not there, and I kept asking myself what am I missing out on in life? A Dad? My Grandfather’s were missing, my Uncle’s were missing from my life! I started using my role models like my basketball coach from high school and college, and I learned to become role models younger males and females in return.

So true. My biological father was a narcissist that used my sister and I to hurt my mom, and he was often very absent. My step dad was my dad, was always there for me, was always supportive and present. When he died, my world shattered and I spent years recovering. When the other died, I reacted as though I was reading spam. When I think of "dad" it's my step dad that will always come to mind.
