Blizzard's logic is why spend money to clear bots when its going to look bad on the annual report with less subscribers. The reality is their leadership don't believe in their own products quality and developers. They don't take into consideration that bots are ruining the economy and after some time average players won't have the time to grind gold in order to keep up with the game. That's why wow token and gdkps became a norm.

I was happy to try out SOD after I cancelled my WotLK sub when they put in the bloody token. Economy in SOD is already rubbish. I'm about to drop my sub again. Blizzard prefers bots instead of real players...

I really appreciate you sharing ideas of how to deal with bots through fearing them into more mobs. As a rogue I have been waiting until hunter bots pull then kill the pet since they usually wont always attack u. If you attack the hunter then the pet will usually change focus to you. I would sure like to hear more ideas on how others counter the bots.

You sir are a hero. As soon as i see gdkp or boosts in SoD I'm done. I already promised myself I'd never play again but with good friends and a fresh experience I've been having such a blast. Alas, it's inevitable that people that aren't passionate about this game will ruin it for those that are. It's almost like getting kicked out of your home so some soulless group with more money than sense can build condos over the old oak tree you grew up playing in.

the bot issue is insane, i spent a couple of hours the other day using them to my advantage by tagging the mobs right before they attack so they'd kill them for me and get nothing in return, but as you said, for each bot that gets banned a dozen more show up, its absolutely insane.

I was thinking people were over reacting about the bot situation.. then I got to Redrige Mountains.. Most of the players there are really bots. So sad

I take matters into my own hand by killing opposite faction bots in redridge and duskwood, (since i need lots of anti venom anyway for pvp) while farming some mats for bg, surprisingly alliance players were very supportive at me for doing so

The problem with Bots and Blizzard is a numbers game really. For every employee at blizzard scanning for bots and banning them, there's way, way more Botters who spin up hundreds of bots (or more) everyday, because it's their business, their job. While it may seem as easy as "click bot, hit ban" It's not that simple. Even games that are far more loved and cared for such as Runescape struggle with the bot crisis. They fulfill a demand for in-game items that players themselves do not care to farm themselves. I've personally given up in the fight against bots. As long as I don't see or hear about them, that's fine for me.

The BOT-accounts should get converted into Hardcore (perma death) accounts. When that char dies, its dead, no matter what kind of server.

the bad thing is how little effort the bots make and it just doesn't happen in sod there are rouges with names like shfspqrnhz and that only in start area or stormwind rouge stockade runs are also ridiculous

Its so so so so so bad, so bad, blizzard so garbage at doing anything, spent over 2hrs just reporting bots.

I got a 7 day ban for trash talking in barrens while there's hundreds of bots running around. Unsubbed.
