BTCC Vauxhall Astra FOUND and Restored!

Join us on a journey to a rural farm just outside Brighton, where we go and visit a Championship winning, fully restored BTCC Vauxhall Astra Coupe, piloted by Yvan Muller to the 2003 Drivers, Constructors and Teams Championship titles.

As maligned as the BTC-T era of the BTCC is, I feel like the Astra Coupe really needs and deserves better representation in sims. Its last appearance in-sim in any official capacity is in Evolution GT from 2006, and as far as I'm aware no one has added it to the likes of Assetto Corsa or rFactor 2.

I didn't appreciate this car back in the day, think it was because I was an mg fan. But over Lockdown 3 in the uk I watched every btcc season since 2000 and rewatching those seasons gave me new respect for cars and drivers including this beast of a car

Bloody amazing car. I have felt with touring car spares for thier advice and spares I have bought from them for my build. Always good to look threw thier ebay listings... also all that money and technology and still a broom handle to hold the bonnet... brilliant videos

I've been following the progress of this restoration on Facebook and I was lucky enough to see this car race in person at Brands Hatch back in 2003, so it brings back some good memories. For me the BTC era wasn't anywhere near as good as the Supertouring that preceded it, but fond memories all the same 👍.

believe it or not this car actually belongs to my dad he raced it for one year in Dubai auto drome with the Clio cup and TCR cars it was the only car in its class so he had won a few races in it then he had decided to retire the car as he thought it would be to risky to keep it running as the moter is very valuable nd he didn't want to wear the engine to much at the time all the stickers were taken off the car and it was a plain white with a hint off orange so we tried to get new original stickers for it here in Dubai but they got sent out to small so we ended sending it to the UK and getting it done properly Yvan was interested in buying the car earlier but then told us he wanted it for free so we denied it is still up for sale and if have any other questions about this car feel free to put them under this comment
