Seated manipulation of the cervical spine is a technique that can be used to manage pain in the upper limb, in the head or in the thoracic region of the spine. The effectiveness and the efficiency of the manipulation techniques for manage pain have been analyzed in the last two decades. Findings suggest that manipulation and mobilisation present similar results for every outcome at immediate/short/intermediate-term follow-up. Multiple cervical manipulation sessions may provide better pain relief and functional improvement than certain medications at immediate/intermediate/long-term follow-up.

When examination using translation reveals non-motion C6/C7 facet joint right. The Op can use an HVLA to restore physiologic range of motion to the C6/C7 joint right, so that the appropriate range of motion is restored.
