How Taylor Swift chooses which lucky fan gets the “22 hat”!

If you were lucky enough to get tickets to the ERAS tour as Taylor Swift came through North America, or while she's been abroad, then you were able to see one lucky fan every night receive her hat during the song “22.” Here’s my theory on how the fan is chosen and it’s been confirmed by a lot of sources online. As an update, there are some fans that are chosen ahead of time for numerous reasons, but the majority are chosen that night! It is mama Swift that chooses who gets the hat unless it is someone Taylor knows like Gracie Gomez or Kobe Bryant's daughter. Her Mom and Dad go everywhere she plays since she first started(like at fairs until now.) Her mom and dad used to walk around and pick who had the best signs, had the best Taylor outfit or was having the most fun and give them passes for a meet and greet after the concert. Her parents seem so cool. You can tell Taylor was raised right. She still writes handwritten letters, which is a lost art. Hardly anyone does that anymore. The recipients are so grateful that they matter enough to get a personal letter. It means actual thought and time were put into it. It might be a Southern thing. We were raised to send hand written letters even when email and texting came along. Her parents are also very involved in her brother Austin's life. Not controlling parents but involved in a good way. I heard an interview from someone who has worked on a couple of her tours in the background part(not a dancer, or the people she interacts with daily on tour) and they said it is amazing how much of an family environment her tours are. She is very lucky to have such a close supportive family.

Andrea may not pick every single person getting the hat but she has definitely picked a number of them. I would venture a guess that she's probably even picked most of them, unless Taylor or someone else on staff has a specific person they request. One girl even asked for a picture with Andrea before the start of a show and ended up being escorted by security up to the side of the stage to get the hat. The only person with as much pull as Taylor has, in Taylor world, is Andrea.

Her tour will be my very first of her and I'm so excited!!! Got my outfit picked out already, will be with 2 friends there as well! I've never been more hopeful about getting something like I'm with the 22 hat, tho I doubt I'll get it haha

It was Daddy Swift who worked out the Movie Deal with AMC movie theater when all the Movie Studios were selfishly greedy, so Daddy Swift bypassed them all and went straight to the theater owners. So everything they do is a family affair.*

I’m pretty sure Taylor is the one that picked Leyton. She went to Steph’s house during Swiftmas and has acknowledged Leyton through the years since. He always gets super excited. I love that.
