The design of the iSteady Pro 4 is similar to the forerunner iSteady Pro 3. It is lightweight and compact with 365g. The iSteady Pro 4 is splashproof and can therefore be used in the rain and harsh weather conditions. On the bottom is a thread connection. The handshaft is slightly oval and rubberized. The charging socket is located on the side and is protected with a rubber cover. The iSteady Pro 4 can be charged using the USB-C port. The USB port serves as a power bank output. Above the rubber cover is another threaded connector. This allows you to mount your iSteady Pro 4 in different places and also use it as a wearable gimbal. On the opposite are the battery indicator LEDs. The iSteady Pro 4 allows an operation time up to 14 hours.

The trigger button is located on the back. If you press the trigger button continuously during the operation, the iSteady Pro 4 switches to sports mode . Pressing the trigger button twice resets the GoPro to its original position. On the front are the control buttons. A long press on the power button turns the iSteady Pro 4 on or off. The slider can be used to control the roll axis. The joystick can be used to control the tilt and pan movements. The mode button is used to set the different gimbal modes. The mode LEDs indicate which mode you are in. By pressing the mode button once, the operating modes can be switched through. The following operating modes are available.

By default, the Pan Following Mode is active. Here, the roll and tilt axes are locked and the iSteady Pro 4 follows your pan movement.

In the Pan & Tilt Following Mode, only the roll axis is locked and the iSteady Pro 4 follows the pan and tilt movement.

In All Locked Mode, all motion axes are locked and the gimbal holds the specified position.

In the POV Mode & also called Inception Mode, all gimbal axes are unlocked.

The three gimbal motors are located in the upper area. The action camera is fixed to the mounting frame with the new quick mounting system. Just place your GoPro in the mounting frame and fix it with the bracket. The built-in springs on the mounting bracket ensure an ideal and secure hold.

In general, all action cameras are compatible with the iSteady Pro 4. The maximum payload of the gimbal is 150g and the action camera dimensions should be smaller than: max. height – 51mm; depth 30mm.
Optimally, the iSteady Pro 4 is suitable for the new GoPro models GoPro Hero 10/ 9 and 8. Of course it is also compatible with the DJI Osmo Action, the Insta360 ONE R and Sony RX0.

The iSteady pro 4 gimbal can also be paired with the GoPro. On the back of the mounting unit you will find a Pair button, where you can turn on or off the WIFI. Double click the Pair button, to turn on the WIFI.

Hohem Gimbal App: This allows you to control the gimbal with the smartphone joystick, change the operating modes and adapt the motor strength & speed. It can also be used to create motion timelapse videos.

Summary:
The iSteady Pro 4 is the perfect gadget for handling your Gopro 10, because an Actiocam alone is not optimally designed for freehand guidance. The new mounting system convinces with its simple and quick mounting possibility. Also your GoPro can be connected and controlled with the iSteady Pro 4, which extends the range of operation. I have this gimbal. It works pretty good. The only complaint is not being able to charge while in use. I know that the gimbal can charge the camera, but that's still only a few hours of power. What if you want to do an all night, or all day time-lapse? A program change that would allow either charging while in use, or operating from power supplied by an outside source like a power bank or a USB 110 plugin is needed. I also have the pro3 gimbal. I contacted Hohem through e-mail and ask about controlling 2 gimbals, either in synchronized movement, or separately, from the same app/phone. They're reply was that it is not possible to control 2 from the same app. You have to use 2 phones/tablets, one hooked to each gimbal. They did say it is a good idea, and they would pass it to the tech people.

I like how you show it mounted to a chestmount. 4 videos deep on this product nobody had it mounted to anything. As a mountain biker I cant really hold it, needed to see if it CAN be done 🎉

Also you didn't put a link for the rectangular shaped piece that slides onto the chest strap, what is that and is there a link for it? I just bought it yesterday. I use it with the Osmo Action. It's nice. Does a nice job usually, but has some problems. The biggest one is that you must use it together with the RockSteady EIS, because without it, like when I tried it at night, the footage is verry shaky. Not big shakes, but small annoying shakes. The second problem is that it sometimes goes crazy and for some reason the camera simply turns around to face the opposite side, or up side down and I cannot fix it. Third problem is the it is not completely horizontally leveled and it take time to do it manually. Also, the hold of the gimbal covers some of the screen of the camera, which makes it impossible to use some of the menus because you cannot use the whole screen. So it's great, but mostly at night, and you have to pay attention how you mount the camera just right and level it just right. But It has to be straight in the center, so every time you press the record button (you can only operate the GoPro from the gimbal, PLEASE Hoem, make it also compatible to Osmo Action), you move the camera and its out of balance.

I bought the I steady Pro4 and use with a Hero 8 Black. My question is why does the power button on the Pro 4 not turn off my Gopro. It turns it on just fine. The reason I want to turn it off is to save battery life between recordings. I use an external mic and have the camera mounted to where you can't access the power button without disassembly.
